Rafiq Dossani
About The Author
Dr. Rafiq Dossani is a senior research scholar at the Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center of Stanford University and is responsible for directing its South Asia Initiative. He teaches courses in the politics, religion, and development of South Asia. A specialist on sectoral policy reform, he has advised the Indian government on telecommunications, venture capital, energy, and rural access to information technology.
Prior to joining Stanford University, Dossani worked for the Robert Fleming investment banking group, first as CEO of its Indian operations and later as head of its San Francisco operations. He has also been a deputy editor of Business India, India’s largest circulating business magazine.
He has degrees from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, the Indian Institute of Management at Calcutta, and Northwestern University, Evanston.
