About the Author
Long before his name became synonymous with the modern legal thriller, he was working 60-70 hours a week at a small Southaven, Mississippi law practice, squeezing in time before going to the office and during courtroom recesses to work on his hobby—writing his first novel.

He said yes to Leon Graney, though, and did so for two reasons. First, the circumstances surrounding the request were quite unusual, and, second, Leon’s boss at the lamp factory was Mr. McBride’s third cousin. Small-town relationships being what they are, Leon Graney arrived at the upholstery ...

Wow..
After a tragic event in my neighborhood over the weekend, this was almost fitting for my mindset. Very engaging short story - I want to read the entire book.

Fetching Raymond
I enjoyed this short story, though it reminded me of Larry Brown's work instead of Grishom's.

A trip to the airport--not.
I liked this dysfunctional family because it reminded me of my own family--we all have our weirdnesses--and the ways we cope (some call it dysfunction) are what make us unique. The characters here are craggy and realistic. Their biases and egotism are reflected in most of humanity--only in this family are they exposed.

Don't know who to cheer for..
Amazing story about a man on death row, it shows how ones actions truly hurt others that they love or loves them. I'm not sure who was being criminalized in this story but I felt as though Raymond got what he deserved, although his family, especially his mom has to suffer through the consequences of his action for rest of her life.
