How to speak and write correctly
A sound old-fashioned text on grammar, full of sane advice on grammatical points. But some of the examples are not relevant, at least to readers in India. Portions on parsing, mood etc may best be omitted

Historical Perspective
An interesting read that reveals the evolution of language in the past century. Also provides instruction (or reinforcement) of basic grammar and common mistakes.
