Description
Chemistry is the science of the "stuff" in our world: how matter acts and react, combines, destroys,or even explodes. This Khan Academy video course covers topics you'd find in a first-year high school or college chemistry class. It will introduce the atom, the Periodic Table, and the rules for balancing a chemical equation—that is, the math behind what we see when various elements are combined. There's much more, too, including Van der Waals Forces, Stoichiometry, and, ominously, Maxwell's Demon. Never heard of them? Don't worry: this course will explain them all in plain English, giving you the keys to understanding how the world really works.
