Description
Differential equations play a key role in numerous fields, including economics, physics, and engineering. What are they? In a nutshell, differential equations are equations that involve an unknown function and its derivatives, and for which the solution is also function. These equations are used to describe a relationship involving two continuously changing quantities, modeled by functions, and the rate at which they change over time, expressed as derivatives. To tackle these problems you'll need an understanding of calculus—and, of course, an enthusiasm for functions and derivatives.
