About the Author
Drawing from her childhood in a close-knit and unique family from Concord, Massachusetts, Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) created a beloved collection of works about young people coming of age in the post Civil-War era. Alcott's books for young adults, among them Little Women, Jo's Boys, Under the Lilacs, and An Old-Fashioned Girl, are noted for their wholesome themes. However, she was a multi-faceted writer who also dabbled in a more grown-up genre. Sometimes published under a pseudonym or anonymously, Alcott's alternative body of work consists of "less respectable" and torrid romances, mysteries, and thrillers such as A Long Fatal Love Chase, A Modern Mephistopheles, and Behind a Mask.

Great Classic for big and little women
I absolutely loved this book. It has great morals to touch the heart! I would recommend every young girl to read it. I am buying this book for my girls.

Good Read
I liked the overall story and reading this book was entertaining. It was humorous and delightful. I was saddened by one of the events involving Beth in the book and wished it would not have taken place...I had an inclination to wish other events to have taken place with Laurie and Jo but I feel that situation actually ended rather well. All in all, very good book.

Little Women Review.
The novel Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott, takes place during the Civil War. The time and era of the story is the 19th century. “Little Women” is a story about four young girls named Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March. They all grow to be young women during the Civil War. The novel is focuses on the girls growing up, and the death of Beth. Jo was asked to be engaged by the next door neighbor, who she turns down, then becomes Amy’s husband. The four girls struggle with having very little money, and against poverty, with their Marmee, while their Father is serving as a doctor in the war
