Description
The carefully controlled and chess-like movements of polite society often conceal passionate hearts, keen minds, and rebellious wills. High-spirited Elizabeth Bennet attempts to stay true to her ideals while her meddlesome mother schemes to get all five Bennet sisters married and to secure their family's fate at all costs. Can a girl who refuses to abandon her independent and scrutinizing ways find true love and a faithful heart? More than one unexpected twist and shocking revelation await our heroine as she must choose between the dashing Mr. Wickham and proud, aloof Mr. Darcy.

About the Author
Educated and trained in her craft largely within her family home, Jane Austen (1775-1817) developed a singularly sharp eye and keen wit for chronicling the lives, loves, and misadventures of the English gentry. Although little-read during her lifetime, Austen has since been awarded a lasting place as one of the most brilliant English women ever to put pen to paper. Austen's novels Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Persuasion, and Northanger Abbey welcome readers of all ages and eras to delight in their timeless humor and poignancy.

The best book ever writen and read
Pride and Prejudice is a wonderful book. I love it because it is light, ironic, truthful. It will be popular always, it is not just a love story, it is full of criticism of the society and people who only play before each other and judge by appearances.
It is a pity that this book will never be understood and appreciated by men.

Witty, if outdated
I think this is a very enjoyable, lively, well-written book. However, i can't give it 5 stars because some of it is so outdated to our times that it seems frustrating.
