Description
A novel about the future that's closer than we think.
Roo'd is geek-addled cyberpunk fiction at its finest, about a teenage boy with two prosthetic legs and a band of misfit body-modders, shamanistic computer hackers, and pharmaceutically psychotic bioscientists. But it's also an exploration of someone coming to grips with what they truly love to do— and what it means to do it in a confusing world of shades of gray.
Two mechanical legs, a prodigal brother who torched himself out of the big schools, and a mindless corporate drone for a mom. Fed's determined to get farther than that, and is dead set on keeping his nose clean until he gets a solid job with a steady future. But when he stumbles across his lost brother and his body-modding friends from the underground he gets caught up in something much, much cooler than anything he could have imagined, and ends up having to choose. Because if he does what he loves he might never see home again— and if he doesn't he just might lose everything he cares about.

Fed was 18 when Tony got roo'd. He'd been prepping for early college admission with late-night com-classes, goggled in and finger-cramped over nasty circa-2009 C++ code examples while longing to toss it in for time to scan some flashy Java virii. Tony had been gone from his life for at least a ...

Good cyber punk adventure
Good cyber punk. An adventure story only; no exploration into deeper meanings of life or the human condition.

Pretty good!
Roo'd kept me interested though sometimes all the technical speak went over my head. Good mix of humor and satire (ex Disney) but also lots of action and plot.
