I just finished this. The author writes from an older time with various capitalization stylings that strike the reader from start to finish.
The story ebbs and flows in terms of excitement and slower parts. You will certainly have a favorite character or too.
This was my first DailyLit book and I found the breaks very well positioned. Often times very cliff hanger like.

I am just starting this.. it is also my first DailyLit book, I chose it because it is a genre I like (fantasy/science fiction) and the number of installments didn't seem too bad. I will see whether my thoughts agree with yours when I finish!

A nice enough tale, I quite enjoyed the story but was not really taken with the writing style. A main character's habit of talking in the third person was slightly irritating, and the language a bit flowery at times. I can't say I picked a favourite character! if pressed I would say Kathleen because she seemed the most even tempered.
