  • It is not necessary... just a result

  • Doesn't disease and pestilence contribute in ridding excess population?

  • development also takes care of excess population. besides, who determines who is the excess in our population? want to volunteer to be part of the excess fat?

  • development -- great plan. look at how all those "developed" countries are faring -- most of western europe, the states, japan...nations in decline because we as "educated" people decided having two kids was more than enough - and then some of us lose them to accidents, disease, drugs, and war.

as bad as war is for us, it is eternally married to peace.

  • It is obvious that the poster, ray, has never been in a war,if in fact he had been, his out look would be quite different, although there are many insane people,...
Our race is still imature,if we do not distroy ourselfs,or cercome to catastrophye,,,We will reach a time where violence will never be used to settle disputes amoung ourselfs,,,,Then we will truely look back at this time,,and see only pity,sorrow,,,recklessness.....someday..

  • I thought we are discussing a statement from "The Art of War" not whether we believe the statement to be correct or incorrect or even nauseating to contemplate. In the era when "The Art of War" was written, one might think that it (war) was an okay form of population control.

  • The Art of War was required reading, as were many other titles, when I was in the Marines. I enjoyed it then and read it from time to time when between other books. It is a great piece of literature and is still relevant today for military and other endeavors.
