• Jhumpa Lahiri's works, in my opinion, seem to focus on culture issues. I read Interpreter of Maladies a while back, and it was a great collection of short stories. I think I'll have to find Unaccustomed Earth somewhere to read the rest of the short stories in that collection! Lahiri is just a stunning writer.

• This was a great short story. The struggles that occurred are so common. The young want to assimilate the culture of their new country. Whereas, the older generation struggles with change and unfamiliarity of their new country. The author made me want to read more every day. She has a very warm writing style. Can't wait to read more of her works.

• He also broke two hearts, for he had two women who loved him. I love the way this author so eloquently described the inner turmoil she felt between cultures.
