Book & Review Forums: Hell-Heaven
endearing and sweet...but with a touch of tragic...

I loved the culture aspects of this story. How difficult it is to bridge the "gap" from one country to another, one custom to another. How quickly one adapts or desperately hangs on to their cultural identity. In the story, the daughter grows up...we leave her as a young woman. It would be great if Lahiri could transform this into a book....great read nonetheless.
