Pickwick Papers
I just started Pickwick Papers. I've read other things by Dickens, even read all of Martin Chuzzlewit to my children many years ago, but I've never read this one. What peaked my interest was the mention of how Mr. Pickwick's eyes twinkled. Then I knew this character would be interesting....

It's one of my favourite Dickens books. Because of the novel's structure, he is able to alternate between different moods, and there is a wide range of personalities portrayed, as one might expect, in the inimitable Dickensian fashion.
