I'm currently about half way through and finding it an enjoyable read, if a little slow paced. How about you?

i see that you already ended, did you enjoy it?

Just started it today. It took me just a bit to get into the way the words were written. So far it is really good.

I read it some time ago so I do not remember the pacing. The problem I had was that the original film was vivid in my mind when reading it so it was very hard to imagine anything outside of the movie.

I'm on my 27th installment and I'm enjoying it. When I imagine some of the descriptions, I get visual gists of the movie as well.

I chose it for my first Daily Lit read. It's one of those that I always thought I should read in order to be a serious SF fan. It's awfully quiet at work right now, so hopefully I'll be able to get throught it quite quickly.

I always say, "Don't judge a book by the movie".
Movies should say'"Very loosely based on the book".

I actually found the 1960 movie very accurate to the book with the exception of an addition referencing World War II.

This story was the first of Wells' that I read and I enjoyed it enough to read more.

I've just chosen it as my first Daily Lit read, and am now through part 3. I'm pretty crazy busy at work, and want to see if the Daily Lit model of one 2-3 minute part a day, 5 days of week will work to get through this SF classic.

I wanted to start with something where I'd finish in a couple of months, not a couple of years, and I too as an SF fan felt I should read this (and Island of Dr. Moreau, but that's not in Daily Lit).
