Now I know why it was so difficult to read 40 years ago.

4 out of 5

Finished it and am happy that I found DailyLit to do so...made it less painful to digest this very dense classic.

  • Hehe, I am only on my 7th installment and it seems to lack coherence...it seems like a lot of rambling and non sequiters. It makes me wonder what kind of drugs Henry David was taking!

  • I'm on my 19th installment now, and I wonder what he would think of our modern vanities and trappings! He's probably rollingover in his grave.

  • Dear w9eh,
I think that you make a good point - this classic is best in short installments. I signed up for longer installments, but now I am thinking that I need to down-size. My mind wanders when I read it, so if I keep it short, I may be able to finish it. Thanks for the insight.
