All time favorite characters
I read this in a Russian Lit. course, in which I was the only non-English major. It blew my mind. Seriously. The depth of the characters, the subtle twists and the humor!
Probably the top five best books written.

i agree. i find myself grimacing or smirking or raising my eyebrows along with the characterizations. Each character, including the peasant, acts and reacts so accurately according the the circumstance right down to the glance or eye shift. While it is taking forever to finish, i do not want it to end.
