Book & Review Forums: Byron's Poetical Works
To Eliza -Byron's Poetical Works

I was having a pretty enjoyable time reading this book before i came to installment 30/164. The poem is downright blasphemous, and projects religious intolerance. It upset me to think that such a renowned poet can be so close-minded and biased when talking of another sect. As for the accusations on the Prophet and the religion: it shows the poets absolute ignorance of its true teachings. Poems like these should be condemned, and i'm only too sorry if this wasn't done during the time of the poet. This poem brought down all my opinion of him.

If you want to post about the author, there is a separate area under author for that. The book review area is for people who have read the entire work and are reviewing the BODY of work, not just one poem.
