Book & Review Forums: Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass
Breathtaking

I finished this book in four days because I couldn't put it down, so to speak. It's hard to believe that this book was written 165 years ago, because many of the themes he brought up - subjugation through brutality, ignorance, fraud and inhumanity - still ring true, and his prose style has aged well. (I'm assuming that this is the original text and hasn't been edited recently.)
