The Big Read
Is there a way you can keep members updated on what the month's Big Read is going to be before the start of the month? I just discovered, after reading the newsletter, what the March Big Read book was. Had I known, before the end of the month I would have probably subscribed and read it at the same time at other members.
Notifying members, whether it be from your blog, home page, or even an email what the next Big Read will be will allow them to sign up ahead of time. This will spark more coversation of the book in the forums and at the end of the month you could start a topic on "What did you think of the book" and everyone can reply after they've finished reading it.

We were actually a little late this month in sending out our newsletter, but technically the "Big Read" doesn't start until the newsletter goes out--that way we let as many people as possible know at the same time what other folks will be reading. So, the March Big Read will extend into April, but since everyone got word of the book at the same time we figured that would be okay.
