I'm doing a group reading challenge which will have me reading authors from countries or cultures I haven't read from before and I'll also be reading books that have been on my shelves for several years. If it goes as planned, I'll read about 100 books this year.

To finish reading all of the books I have purchased in the past but never read. I have a huge stack of them by my bed but I keep buying new ones and reading them first!

I plan to go down the alphabet(not necessarily in order) and read an author that corresponds with that letter. 26 letters for 26 writers.
So far I have M(for Machiavelli), H( for Bobby Henderson), and will start on G soon(for Graham Greene). I welcome any comments or suggestions for this project.Jan 4, 2010 4:05 pm

To stop caring about what other people think...it's time to make my own kind of life and not look at others...

To finish several books that I started last year. I don't know why, but I was in a weird funk the last several months and read only 3/4 of several books, my goal is to finish them before 2011!!

I endeavor to read my books, and not merely use them as decorations! They are pretty, but they don't all need to be owned by me necessarily. So I have to read each book, and make a decision. I'm going to be focusing primarily on religious, or philosophical books this year. That will keep me busy. I have an eclectic collection of books ranging from Judeo-Christian to Buddhist to Hindu, and even Hari Krishna books! I may be confused by the abundance of choices, but I should still be able to tell when a book is well written. Those are the books I'll be keeping for now. I think I'll be adding a few more Jewish books, after I start going to services at this really nice synagogue I've found. I think it will be a really fun, fulfilling, year for reading.
