Which are your favorite books of the year?

I'm currently reading 'Crush It!' and 'On the Origin of Species'. Both books relate to my website ifrog.us. iFrog.us a hobby site now, but I am hoping to really expand on it And make it a profitable business one day; and 'Crush It!' will definitely help in that department.

I just finished ROOM by Emma Donoghue. The story is told by a five-year-old boy. The story was so good I couldn't put the book down. I just had to finish it! I highly recommend it.

I'm just reading Cross Fire by Alex Cross - suprisely fascinting book, can't get my hands of it until I'll finish this:)

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. It is the third in the Hunger Games series, all of which I consumed rather voraciously... while there are some flaws that I won't reveal, it was a satisfying (because it was unsettling) conclusion to the trilogy. Unfortunately I haven't had much time to read any other "current" books as I have quite a back log of older books to find time for.

Ian McEwan's "Solar" was my favorite this year. Not everyone's cup of tea, I suppose; the antihero is so....well, antiheroic. But a very funny, beautifully crafted and engaging read.

Mr. Peanut by Adam Ross-a fascinating contemporary commentary on modern marriage wrapped in a murder mystery, most provocative!

Definately the Hunger Games (the first one) by Suzanne Collins. She describes everything so well and has inspired me to write my version of the Hunger Games. Maybe that's not such a good things since I'm killing all my friends off...

I read a lot of great book this year but the one that always stands out in my mind is "SLK-Serial Killer," the true crime novel by Ed Coet. It's just a facina, captivating, and thrilling read all the way through it's 500+ pages. It's also unique. It's not like any other true crime novel. That's why once you've read it you can't stop thinking about it. It's the only book I read in years that I might want to read twice. It really is that good.

Right now I'm reading Must You Go?: My Life with Harold Pinter (by Antonia Fraser), and it's absolutely wonderful. Definitely a candidate for the best book I've read in 2010 (I suppose I'll need to finish it soon to make the deadline!)

For the year 2010 it is a toss up between American Assassin by Vince Flynn and SLK-Serial Killer by Ed Coet. Both are just very intriguing in their own way. One is fiction the other true crime. Take your pick, they're both very god.

My favourite book this year was Ken Follett's "World Without End" his sequel to "Pillars of the Earth" (my favourite book). I am fascinated by the medieval age and it gave me a time to live in the period as i traveled through Europe and lived in 'Kingsbridge' and followed the the events of its citizens and and Cathedral. The developed friendships made with the characters of Follett's medieval world.have joined favourite 'friends' I' ve gained from Dickens, Twain and Ellis Peters Brother Cadfael . Any book that gives friends i would like to have in real life or experiences that give room to develop my own understanding of life to me is what fiction is all about. All that and the pleasure of entering worlds of imagination that take me through the gamut of human emotions helping me know my actual world and myself just a little better while enjoying the experience..

"The Help" was my favorite book I read in 2010. Close behind were "The Ghost" by Robert Harris and "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". Favorite book I read this year that was actually published in 2010 - "The Passage".

Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Helen Simonson is a great book! A stiff-upper-lipped British Major finds out it's never too late to fall in love.

I had several favorites this year. I read Tom Sawyer for the first time and thought it was wonderful. I can't believe I missed reading it when I was growing up. I also read two books for school that I thought were life changing and would recommend to anyone. The books were Searching for God Knows What by Donald Miller and Free of Charge by Miroslav Volf. Amazing!

For nonfiction: Making Our Democracy Work-A Judge's View by Stephen Breyer. One of those books you think about long after you finish, a slow start but then very rewarding.

"Under The Dome" by Stephen King was a very good read. It left me thinking about what could happen. One of his best, I think. also "Wild Laws" by Jim Michael Hansen was one of my favorites too. His law book series are a must read, filled with action, and killers who will stop at nothing to get what they want, and detectives who will stop at nothing to get the killers.
