• Books. All the stacks of books in my room, the books near my bed that I'm currently reading, the ones in my reading list, the ones buried in my reading list, and the ones that I haven't discovered yet that I'll inevitably bump into while searching for another book either on Amazon or on my local library website.
  And writing, especially editing the words I wrote the previous day.

• I get up to cook--oat groats with a poached egg on top with hot sauce for breakfast--and then to plan for dinner from my vast collection of cookbooks. In the meantime, I know I will enjoy the current book(s) I am reading and also on most days also I read excerpts out of my Bible.

• The cats get me up so I can feed them, but what prevents me from flopping back into bed is the newest installment(s) of the books I'm reading here on DailyLit. I have time to read four or five installments on a weekday before I have to start getting breakfast for the rest of the humans in the house, and that half an hour of peace and quiet lets me pull myself together for the day.
  
  On weekends, it's knowing that I can read a book, some of my National Geographics, or play one of my online games uninterrupted for about three hours generally gets me up before even the cats are ready to eat!

• O.K. don't gag...but believe it or not it is my peaceful morning walk and my new work-out routine that I am trying to make a habit. It is easier to do this if you are in Florida at this time of year.

• I wake up easy between 3 & 4 and read my selection of Daily Lit books and delight in the newness of the day with its fresh air with occasional morning rain and the twilight before sunrise. When i return from my morning workout walking through the park i can see the glowing embers of a new day bursting on the rim of the horizon.. Oh its great to be alive, no matter what the day brings early mornings prepare me for a great day.

• I have no choice but to wake up to my cats scratching and meowing behind my door. I also have to thank God for another day then hit the shower for go to work. What really excites me is the idea of choosing a new book to read from my living room bookshelves. The weekend is approaching and I am excited cause I am getting a new stereo to play my CDs.

• Knowing that i have a "to do" list that i enjoy ticking off as i complete each task makes me want to get up and go. Ok who am i fooling, it's not always like that. I enjoy the aroma of the freshly watered grass, our gardener waters the grass everyday here, have you ever taken the time to inhale that earthy fragrance, nothing compares, With my cuppa Joe and a book or the plan to write on that day gets me up and going. Knowing that God gives me this day makes my heart sing

• simple yoga routine, meditation with incense--sandalwood is just amazing...
  then tea-Mariage Freres--the Marco Polo variety--or Irish breakfast...then off to the computer and work full of peace...no matter what the e-mails are about:)

• Endless possibilities. Everyday you wake up to the opportunitiy to make something great of yourself. Somedays, I can't wait to wake up just so that I can lay in bed all day. I love waking up to knowing that I have a choice to do whatever it is I feel like doing. Even when I feel like I have to drag myself to work, I end up being proud that I woke up and did something to make myself a better person.

• Since I work nights, I wake up about noon to the audiobook I put in the night before. Unlike tv, my eyes are closed and it cuts the noises of the day people. Strange dreams though. :0)
