  • Yosemite Valley in 1973. A river running through a relatively flat, fertile, verdant valley sheared by an ancient glacier from majestic mountains down which numerous waterfalls casacade to the valley floor. The valley was abundant with wildlife, mostly harmless, but enough not that there was about one encounter a day with danger. A return in 1995 found so many people it was impossible to experience the peacefullness that I'd found in '73.

  • Try Montana-Glacier National park it is so vast that if there are people keep moving and you can still find solitude. It continues on up to Canada, so quite a bit of land to explore. The variety of landscape and the wilderness make you feel like an explorer and if you take the Lewis and Clark trail up through The Little Big Horn and through the Indian reservations by retracing their steps and making a few of your own, you'll be one.

  • I've seen some beautiful, unforgettable places which have made me realize that God and Heaven are right here.
The Grand Canyon and Santa Catalina's mountains in Monterrey. Just so very awesome!

  • Istanbul is an extraordinary and unique city, shared by Europe and Asia. It is a blend of exhilarating modern skylines with epic architecture. It is decorated by historic waterways and remnants of ageless cultures. It has a young and vibrant population, generous and cheerful in their hospitality. Do your imagination a favor: visit Istanbul. Decide if you can leave willingly.

  • Tennessee has some of the most beautiful mountain sceens, and Kentucky has beautiful farmland, nice walking trails, and plenty of caves for exploration. But from the air, the loop in Chicago is a great sight to see.

  • Hiking in the Red Desert in southwestern Wyoming. The quiet, the blue skies, the wide open spaces, and the sands are stunning and peaceful.

  • La Jolla, CA Beautiful beaches and weather. My husband and I family there every June when our children were young. It holds so many memories, and of course, it is so close to San Diego, which has many great things to do with kids. My husband and I would return by ourselves later in the year, to enjoy it by ourselves and the great hotels.

  • The canyon country of southern Utah, including Canyonlands continues to take my breath away time and time again. I hike into a canyon and am convinced that it's the most beautiful place I've ever seen until I enter the next one. The reds, oranges and yellows of the rocks and canyon walls (and many more additional colors as well) and the purple shadows and the way they contrast with the grays and greens of the plant life, the varied hues of the sand and soil and the bright, bright sky blues entertain my eyes. The scents of wild herbs, pines and other trees mingle with the fresh, unpolluted air and the often surprising aroma of water from the myriad of springs, creeks and the occasional thunderstorm. The treat for my ears is the sound of near absolute silence, broken by the sound of my heartbeat and my own breath.
