What's the one thing in your closet you'll never throw away?
(This question was inspired by our recent launch of Fashion Classics).
I will never throw away my favorite well-made, great-fitting little black dress.

I have a pair of black, lace-up "Granny" boots that I have had for about 30 years now. I bought them when they first came in style in the early to mid-80's, and they are perfectly comfortable, not too narrow, toes not too pointy, and the heel is just the right height and width, not too low and not sky-high stiletto.
I've had them re-soled and re-heeled several times...at least eight to ten times over the years, and one spot where the leather started to split, I took to and old-school cobbler to have patched and re-stitched. He put decorative stitching around the patch, and matching stitches on the other one, so nobody can tell which one has the patch. I love them!

A pair of indigo blue huaraches. They fit great and are my go to casual shoes for warm weather. They have been re-soled a couple of times and I hope they have lots of life left in them.

I keep my deep green silk taffeta gold embroidered sari as a remembrance of the beauty found within India; the mystery, history and magnificance.

In my closet is a white sweat shirt that I won't give away. I acquired it in 1989 with a donation to NPR. I wouldn't part with it for anything. On the front is a cup of coffee with several random primary colors over a black square. Above the square it says 'Morning Edition' and below it 'Tenth Anniversary.' I used to wear it with a bright green turtleneck and white jeans. As a matter of fact, I think I'll pull it out and wear it today. It's a little chilly here in Georgia.
