I thought that the wires strung between all those big, tall poles running alongside the roads here in Maine were to keep the trees away from all the traffic.

I wished someone would build a ladder tall enough to reach through the clouds, so I could look into Heaven and see my sister, who died before I was born.

When I was a child...my mother would read Aesop's Fables aloud, and together we'd try to figure out the moral of the story.

I wished to fly on a plane. The rare sight of a plane from the town where I lived as a child was a treat to the eyes though the aircraft was barely visible; playing truant oftentimes coversd by the clouds. ( This was in Kerala [India] A place known for its monsoon clouds.)

When I was a child ..... the ponds froze in the winter; I read books from the library; they had gas wars with prices, not armies ...... and I didn't know the meaning of nostalgia.

I used to sit on our patio, painting pictures, playing with our cats and reading. Spent so many hours outside with nature and the written word. I didn't realise how lucky I was that my parents gave me that freedom to get lost there in books. I realise now that it's so important to allow a child that freedom to think/create and become something better than they expected.

my grandmother taught me how to cook. I'll never forget spending a week at her house making homemade pasta that had to dry overnight on clean cloths on the beds, so we stayed up late and camped out in the livingroom watching tv and talking.
