Spring Incarnated
If the season, Spring, were to take human or animal form, what would it be like?

it would be a cat.... it seems like it loves you some days and warms you up... but then it leaves you cold in the bed and you wake up to cat food (or litter) spread all over the floor. a cat makes sure you know you are not in control

To me Spring means seeing what blooms; the buds on the trees, flowers poking through the ground, and doing one of my favorite hobbies: gardening.

The elderly view Spring as the end of the old way of life with wings of youthful fancy, wishing that all the flowers would bloom.

Spring would be a baby deer learning to walk. Taking wobbly steps until it learns to prance about and play amongst the flowers.

Spring came in like a lamb
Gentle, mild and sunny
And she'll go out the self-same way
I'll bet you even money.Apr 1, 2011 12:43 am

Spring is a rising phoenix
Waking from the fluffy ashes of a snowy slumber
Fierce in its turbulent re-entry
Shaking off its icy shackles

a colt, or a filly. horses are born at this time. see them on the farms and greenland. little ones just foaled itching to stand up while their mother begs them to stay on the ground. but they are determined to stand on their spindly legs. they teeter and totter until all four hooves are on the ground. horses are remakably lovely and courageous animals with eyes that look through you.

It would be a woman with a floral spring dress and a soft sweater to keep her shoulders warm. She would be picking coral tulips and yellow daffodils to adorn her kitchen and she would begin to open windows and roll up rugs to bring in the fresh air of this wonderful season.

I would maintain my earthly form as it has served me well for the past 70 years. I have fantasized about shape shifting however to walk a meadow, shoreline or mountain trail and all the wonders surrounding is the greatest gift of all.......

A honey bee...
flitting from flower to flower,
tasting the yummy nectar,
swaying in the breeze,
soaking in the sunshine,
and then returning to the hive.
to build a sweet love nest
of honey.Apr 1, 2011 2:13 pm

Spring in Reykjavik is completely paradoxical, a schizophrenic patient off his meds. I can hear one voice in the fierce wind of lingering winter, a second in the tentative warmth of sun that breaks through the gray, and the final one is a sudden hail storm that punctuates the tempestuous season.
