'Twas the Night Before Christmas...

"Twas the night before Christmas..." and then what? Finish these lines as you like. To refresh your memory, the original initial lines read:
"Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse."

  • Twas the night before Christmas, and I stayed awake,
To see if St. Nick would eat my chocolate cake.

I hid at the top of the stairs in the dark,
Hoping to hear a herald angel hark.

But my eyelids did close, and my head it did lean,
Till I woke to find gifts and a note: "No caffeine."

  • 'Twas the night before Christmas,
    Tree glowing in darkness.
    A nightcap to savour.
    Soft quiet together.
    Slow, danceable tune--
    He offers his hand--
    Swaying in silence,
    Peace, magic, unplanned...
And then, on the lawn, there arose such a clatter,
They turned to the noise to see what what the matter...

  • twas the night before Christmas
    and there under the tree
    amongst the presents was Flee
    busily poking and prodding
    all he could see
until he found something he could free
    from it's wrapping
    and ingest with glee
    twas the night before Christmas
    and Flee was so happy

  • Twas the night before Christmas
    And the TV was on
    blaring some nonsense
which I didn't want to hear
    I looked out the window
saw the night cool and clear
    when suddenly some snowflakes
    floated down on the sill
    I turned off the TV
    and looked at the snow
    slowly falling on the landscape
    and glistening below.
    This magical moment
    made me aware
that it's the beauty of nature
    which all mankind does share
Let it be a fitting thought
    for this time of year.
    Thus, Season's greetings to all,
    good health and good cheer!

  • Twas the night before Christmas, and I blew a big bubble
into the air it flew and I knew it was trouble!
Up and up that bubble sailed
beyond the rooftops and chimneys and clouds it trailed.
Then pop! that bubble blew-- and downward
came falling St. Nick, with a thump and a bump earthward
he landed, a beard full of sticky gum
and a sore on his jolly bum!

  • Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,
The roaches were sleeping and so was the mouse,
The children were nestled and snug in their beds,
with dozens of bedbugs all over their heads....
