Don't know the title
I read this book as a child and cannot remember the title. Maybe someone will know it.
Main character was Jean Paul, they were traveling to some sort of Olympics, there were metal plates that were placed on their heads to control them, and they were being controlled by tri-clopse aliens. Similar to war of the worlds (tri-clopse). Thanks for any help.

The books are the tripod trilogy. I think that the author is John Christopher. The books are "The White mountains", "The city of Gold and Lead (might be gold and silver)", and "The Pool of Fire". I looked and they are not on this site.

There were only published in the 1960's so they won't be available for this site any time soon.
I remember the tv show when I was young and it was cancelled at the end of the second series. It took me a long time to be able to find the 3rd book to finish reading.
I really enjoyed the tv show.
I just looked up the series on wikipedia and it appears there was a 4th book written in 1988 that served as a prequel. More information can be found here:
