A good classical for not English speaking people?

Hello, I'm wondering if you can suggest a good classical, suitable for people that use English as a second language. I'd like to improve my English but do not want to start with something too hard.. thanks in advance :)

  • Perhaps Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne, or The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. They will keep your interest, but not be too hard I hope.

  • English is also my second language. Perhaps you could start with children's books such as Grimm's Fairy Tales, The Arabian Nights, Edward Lear's A Book of Nonsense, The Little Prince by de Saint-Exupery, The Jungle Book, Alice in Wonderland, and Sherlock Holmes. I enjoyed them as a kid and still do now. But the Harry Potter series and Twilight series are easier than most classics. Hope it helped!

  • I'd agree with the options given by @panganod, but just to add my two cents, I'd say you should go for something like Sherlock Holmes. It would not only be fun to read, but would also help you improve your vocabulary slowly.
