Ladies, A great new book to read on a Sunday afternoon
Reading this book, on my couch,wrapped in my comforter with cup of tea in reaching distance was as good as it gets. "The Emancipation of Denny G." by Carole M. Olsen was just that.In 1965 a teenager, Denny Gunderson becomes pregnant & is sent away to a home for unwed women to hide her shame. Denny seems like she will always remain bitter and shamed but she turns around and becomes quite the woman. Denny is such a real character (and sarcastic) that you will want to get to know her more. It is only 224 pages & can be read in an afternoon-of pure delight. It is for sale online by Amazon.com & also its own website emancipationdennyg.com-which offers free shipping. By early February it should be in Barnes and Noble or you can request them to order it. Online B&N-it will be available too.
For this "Boomer" it bought me back in time where there were good memories but remember pregnant girls being treated like rejects from society.
