I wanted my over-educated mind to believe in the afterlife, begged my grandfather to give me a sign. The sky was gray, the sun invisible. Suddenly, like never before, I saw a small break in the clouds: a few rays pouring down, smiling. My angel's sign. I smiled through tears.
