Question of the Week - Favorite Banned Books
'Wuthering Heights' I read that book many times,I found it very romantic when I was a teenager.
I should read it again
The Moonstone - Great book
You mentioned in forum that you thought the ending was somewhat sad.I agree, the death of Ezra Jenning was particularly moving.Interesting insight into his opium addiction.he needed it for pain control.I ,then just read about Wilkie Collins and they he may have been an addict.
The Moonstone - Worth reading as the first detective novel in English
I remember this book on the bookshelf when I was a child, but never read it.I found it an enjoyable story and liked the device of using different characters to tell the story. This gave some insight into those people.Mr Betteridge the loyal servant and his bible 'Robinson Crusoe'.The Sargent, very observant and his passion for roses.
