The Yellow Wallpaper - The Yellow Wallpaper

I couldn't get into it. I saw her direction and the word picture she was trying to paint, but I wasn't moved.

North and South - North and South

Elizabeth Gaskell has impressed me. I do so love the classics. I first heard of her through PBS - Cranford. I was not disappointed by her novels. Although a little wordy at times - a trait like her contemporaries - but that was easily overlooked due to my attachment that developed for her characters.

Silas Marner - Sila Marner - What????

This is my reading of any of George Eliot's books. I can't believe that I hadn't read her earlier. I absolutely loved it. It was such a warm and charming story. The twists and turns were unexpected, especially of Dunsey's death. Wow! I will plan to read more.

Behind a Mask - Behind a Mask

Very good. I felt like I was watching an old black and white film. Set in a time past, but I could so relate to the heroine - she wanted to be independant. How things never change!

Wives and Daughters - Wives and Daughters

Loved, loved this book! I love the classics anywho, but Alcott really was detailed and simple in her approach that I was drawn in. Yes, it did get a little to detailed sometimes and looks like everybody got sick...but overlooking these little flaws was easy. I recommend it.

An Old-Fashioned Girl - Old-Fashioned Girl

I love this book. I love classic books anyway, but this one hits a vein. Louisa May Alcott is an author I'll have to pay more attention to. It's funny how some books just stands the test of time.
