Etc. - Question of the Week (11/3/2008): Pick Your President - posted 3 weeks ago

While thinking about this question the name of Albus Dumbledore immediately came to mind. He is wise, he knows what it is like to teach and to develop people, and he is serious about abolishing evil from this world. Then again, would he do it, for he never wanted to be Minister of Magic (although I can't remember the exact reasoning for that at the moment).

Bugs - Favicon is not transparant; looks bad in Firefox 3 - posted 8 months ago

The favicon of this wonderful site has a white background (see http://tweakers.net/ext/f/1yTIo8mj3KD7xi2dTK9zl9Lg/full.png for a small screenshot). This is not a problem in many current browsers, but for Firefox 3 it is. Could you please fix this?

See also http://robert.accettura.com/archives/2008/03/22/webmasters-make-your-favicon-transparent/ for more information about this request.

Ideas - Book queue - posted last year

I was just thinking about requesting exactly this feature, and you're already working on it. Great :) .

Bugs - Changing timezone in subscription options goes wrong - posted last year

If I set the timezone in the subscription options to "GMT+01:00 Amsterdam, Berlin, Madrid" then press Save and then reopen the subscription options for that same book, the timezone is set to "GMT+01:00 Vienna, Warsaw". That's wrong, since it's not the data I entered. Can you solve this bug?

Book Requests - Add 'Prince, The' to Management category - posted last year

Can you please add 'Prince, The' to the management category? The first time I heard about this book, I was told that it was the first management book ever written. After reading it, I tend to believe this. For other arguments, see the books and articles you find when you do a Google search: http://www.google.nl/search?q='the+prince'+management+machiavelli.

Great! :)

Bugs - One profile bugs and two feature request - posted last year

Thanks for fixing the bug and adding the two requests to your to-do-list :) .

Unfortunately editing the profile doesn't work anymore at this moment... When I open the edit page, an incomplete page is shown. The parts after the word Country are missing, and not even available in the page source.

Bugs - One profile bugs and two feature request - posted last year

Everytime I want to change my profile, I have to change the country I live in to the Netherlands, since everytime it is set to the Netherlands Antilles. I think this has something to do with the offset of the array, because the Netherlands and the Netherlans Antilles only differ one entry.

I have set an avatar, as you can see ;) . But while editing my profile I am only able to add a new avatar, not change or delete it. Is it possible to add some code for better avatar management?

It's possible to add genres of interest in your profile. Wouldn't it be a nice idea to add a link to a search form, so users search through the genres in which Dailylit provides books?

The Swiss Family Robinson - question - posted last year

Apparently, I was wrong. They didn't want to go to the US... According to one of the last paragraphes of the first part of this book the family was heading to Port Jackson, to start a new life: "He there [Harm: that's England] undertook the office of missionary to Otaheite; not that he intended to remain on that uncivilized island, but he wished to proceed from thence to Port Jackson as a free colonist."

The Swiss Family Robinson - question - posted last year

I have no idea if this is going to be revealed in the book (I haven't read the book yet, I'm going to start tomorrow ;) ), but I'm going to answer anyway. When I was younger (about ten to fifteen years ago) the Dutch television broadcasted the story of the Robinson family as an animated series. If I remember correctly, they took the boat because they wanted to migrate to the US. Unfortunately, that didn't work out as planned and they ended up on the island.
