  Great Summer Escape Book This book read like a vacation to the coast of Maine. It was like pulling up a chair and chatting with the quaint folks who inhabited a tiny fishing village. • The Pilgrim's Progress finished

  Ingenious! An allegory of the Christian life and struggles. The characters portray aspects of the Christian walk, both good and evil. Biblical references throughout keep the reader on track with the author's point that life is a journey with many pitfalls and deceivers. An immensely enjoyable read. I even recognized some of the characters from my own life! I posted this on 04 April 2009

  Anne of Green Gables This book propelled me into the life of the auburn-haired, orphan girl, Anne, as she finds a home with Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert in rural Canada. My senses were treated to the sounds, sights, sensations and smells of the country as Anne explored her sweet, new life at Green Gables. While reading, I often felt as though I could reach out and touch the scenery and delve into the plot, forgetting my own circumstances for a brief while. I understand why this book has been the favorite of girls --and those who used to be girls :) -- through the ages. I heartily recommend this book. I posted this on 25 December 2008

Anne of Green Gables - Anne of Green Gables
