My life has never been the same since the day my daughter was born. From that day on life was no longer about me. She just left for college a few days ago, but she is still my baby.

Question of the Week - When I was a child...
my grandmother taught me how to cook. I'll never forget spending a week at her house making homemade pasta that had to dry overnight on clean cloths on the beds, so we stayed up late and camped out in the livingroom watching tv and talking.
Question of the Week - Opening Lines
As she watched her mother drive away from the campus, she forgot how much she was looking forward to what she thought was freedom.
Question of the Week - You in Words
Dickens
Question of the Week - Grammar Pet Peeves
My pet peeve is the misuse of the words "less" and "fewer". I don't have less pennies than you, I have fewer pennies than you, which means I have less money than you.
Question of the Week - Literary Resolutions for 2012
Excuse my typos!
Question of the Week - Literary Resolutions for 2012
I have a goal of reading one biogarphy of each president (on my bucket list). I am up to John Quincy Adams. If I read three or four more this year I will be ecstatic.
Reader Challenges - School Jitters
I don't remember my actual first day, but my aunt, who is only 5 years older than me, lived nearby and went to the same school. For my first year we walked to and from school together, so I felt safe.

The Bible-where and by whom was it banned?
Question of the Week - Choose One Book for the Next Generation
The Bible!
Grammar Devotional - Grammar is fun!
Making grammar fun is quite a feat, and here it was accomplished. This was not a boring review, but an extremely relevant and useful look at grammar.

Reader Challenges - That Lovin' Feeling
Secure and safe, cared for-that's how I should feel. Admired and appreciated, that's how he should feel.
Reader Challenges - What's Your Sentence?
She loves the Lord with all of her heart, soul and mind.
Reader Challenges - Heroes
My hero is Elisabeth Elliot. Not only is she a wonderful writer, she has lived a life of integrity and deep faith. She inspires me to be joyful in this life that God has given me. Although widowed twice and now married a third time, she has been single more years than married. She inspires single women to be wise in love. In addition, she has lived courageously. Her first husband was martyred for his faith. She continued their work while raising their daughter alone. Her second husband died from cancer, yet she continued to be a model of strength. She is brave and always speaks in truth and love.
Question of the Week - Influential Books
The Bible
Same Kind of Different as Me
The Hole in Our Gospel
Ten Stupid Things Women Do To Mess Up Their Lives
Question of the Week - Question of the Week #70: Day Jobs
I don't know if Dickens had a day job, but Ithink he would have made a great pastor.
Reader Challenges - Before I die...
Make sure my daughter is okay even if I'm gone.
Question of the Week - Question of the Week #14: Books You Hate
Bless Me Ultima was completely ridiculous. The story is supposedly told from the point of view of a child, but it reads almost like he is an adult . His parents are annoying, and the weird mix of spirtual beliefs is troublesome. I really didn't see the point, other then the benefits to children of having two parents who are on the same spiritual page.
The Old Curiosity Shop - One of the greats.
Sorry I did not respond sooner-you were right!
3 Short Reads by Edgar Allan Poe - A New Perspective
I have not read Poe in many years (since high school) and I found it much more sinister than I did then. These dark writings bother me now, because I know it is not just great fiction writing. Some of these dark characters actually exist and have the power to destroy us.
Reader Challenges - Summer Vacation in Six Words
Had hard time keeping teenager busy.
Reader Challenges - 6 Word Autobiography
Pray I live to become Grandma.
Etc. - Question of the Week #16: Favorite Female Writers
I can't choose just one, but I think Toni Morrison is worth a mention.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Life and Death
Is babyhood so different than old age? The obvious answer is yes, but there are a few uncanny similariities. What I love about this story is that it poses questions without actually stating them. Growing up and growing old are amazing, and the rigt way to go.
Question of the Week - Question of the Week #13: Love is in the Air (or Book)
Othello-only for that one day, long enough for him to be extraordinarily romantic but not long enough for him to become jealous and crazy!
Question of the Week - Question of the Week #8: Which books make good movies?
I am not generally an Oprah Winfrey fan, but I think she is a very good actress. She did very well with Toni Morrison's Beloved. Lord of the Rings was fabulous, and I was pleasantly surprised at Disney's handling of The Chronicles of Narnia.
The Old Curiosity Shop - One of the greats.
I am only part way through the book, but it has already proven to be as enjoyable and inviting as many of Dickens' works are. Interesting characters and situations, looking forward to continuing reading.
Etc. - Question of the Week #7: Holiday Edition
It would definitely be the Bible. Every 18 year old should read, understand and experience the Bible, God's holy word, before beginning their adult life. There is no better foundation than understanding God's infinite love for us.
