No emancipation though, from hands that fed him- until sweet 16.... still on a mission, traded his incomplete and fragile identity for a myth, which postponed the inevitable: trusting other folks.

arkansas sharecropper. navy boy pacific theatre molded into master welder. true hillbilly, cocky, planted himself front of the hiring line. 35 yrs, retired. we jammed once, harmonica and guitar, natural as anything. joked how shopping cart was a walker. Cecil’s picture on my office wall: clients inquire and get introduced.

Gordon’s miraculous healing abilities only worked on those he disliked. Reluctantly healing his wife-beating neighbor of inoperable cancer inspired the latter’s attitudinal change, awakening the grateful recipient’s latent healing abilities, which were used to cure Gordon’s terminally ill granddaughter. She practices and teaches this art worldwide at no charge.
