Romance Books - Romance - a taboo?

Boy, this is a great topic! I have had this debate and unsettled feeling between sex and romance for nearly a lifetime! I think we have to remember that romance and love does not always occur between a woman and man. There are many, many forms of love. So, which is the greater, or greatest, type of love? I am asking. Many say the romantic kind.

I was told love is sacrifice.
Sex and lust play very little part in that equation.

I highly recommend all ages read the love story found in 'Rowan of the Wood' (authors Christine and Ethan Rose). Here is the site: RowanoftheWood.com. That book gave me a great example of what true love and romance is when it literally transcends centuries and involves sacrifices so extreme, not many could ever hope to accomplish such acts. I have to say the book format has 'stuck' with me as a form of comparison when asking: 'Does this person truly love me?' ever since I finished reading the book in July.

Book Requests - Book request for Rowan of the Wood

Rowan is getting a lot of buzz and even up for some awards, according to the site RowanoftheWood.com. The authors are Christine and Ethan Rose. This is one of the best books I have ever read, and I read a lot!

I also found the book has listings on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. It will give a lot of fiction/fantasy/adventure fans an alternative to the current young adult book scene.

I worked in the young adult section of a major library and saw that fantasy books were constantly needing re-shelving due to their enormous popularity!

The plot is well-developed, it has a great theme of morality , yet it combines some humor and pathos as well. I hope it can be included on Dailylit.

Jane Eyre - Good!!

I LOVE the book though it is incredibly sad in a true-life sort of way. Very grey and depressing! Makes me cry for those who do not get the redemption at the end that Jane did.

It is amazing how she stayed sweet through all of the terrible abuses she suffered. I often wonder what the great appeal of such stories are for so many. The movie version of 1970? is amazing! My grandmother had real life stories that are far worse than Jane's friend standing in the rain and getting pneumonia.
