I was staring intently at the tiny crack in the rock. There seemed to be a
faint light where there should be darkness. Puzzled I drew closer and
peered inside. My mouth dropped open in surprise and shock. There
was a hidden room and angels were dancing, wreathed in flowers.

The dark and the rustling behind me was causing my heart to beat furiously
and my blood to race through my veins, as if laced with tiny shards of glass. Suddenly, I stumbled into a clearing. As I looked around it dawned on me - I was looking at an angel.

The screeching of metal against metal jarred me wide awake. I was filled with paralyzing fear as I saw the waves of the ocean far below. The car teetered on the edge and then plunged down and then . . . stopped. Afraid to even breathe, I looked over and saw the angel.

Standing on the knoll, the angel was radiant, even against the brilliant, deep blue sky framing her. Her beautiful features emanated a serene calmness. How could she mean what she had just told me? It was impossible. Everything had been going so well, it just couldn’t be. She smiled, patiently waiting.
