Question of the Week - Great Movie Adaptations
Oh, I should have mentioned - I thought the books and movies were comparable, not that the movies necessary improved upon the books (although that could be argued of some...but I love books too much). I also need to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but I've heard that's also a great adaptation.

Definitely The Lord of the Rings. Also, as was mentioned, The Outsiders, as well as Stand By Me (from the Stephen King novella "The Body"). The Help was also very impressive. And I'm looking forward to seeing Hugo (of The Invention of Hugo Cabret), coming out soon.
There's a reason the above listed are some of my favorite books AND movies! :)
