Various - Female Slavery

I would like to find out if anyone has any attachment to any local history organisations. Where I am the archives hold very little on the first black person to come to England... I would like to establish a link for the women who came as slaves but stayed to build lives in various parts of the United Kingdom. But given they do not have last names, many of them took first names derived from the cities they ended up in, its hard to find a definitive line. Often they were buried with little ceremony and little notation anywhere, a stone may say a black man died here, or a black woman who was a maid, but often not if they left family, what their names were and what became of them...If anyone has a good start point in their own city or town, it is information of a more intimate local flavor that I.m looking for!
