The Miller's Daughter - A typical Agatha Christie mystery

This is posted for the wrong book. It is meant for The Mysterious Affair at Styles. Sorry

The Miller's Daughter - A typical Agatha Christie mystery

Lots of clues, including an early suspect who is replaced with everybody else as suspect and then turns out to be the real suspect after all.

The Miller's Daughter - A sweet love story with a happy ending

Gripping story of war in the distant past when there was a distinction between soldiers and non-combatants..

Paranoia - Exciting read that leaves you empty in the end.

A story that carries you along with a lot of detail like a crime story. The people in the story however are like paper cut-outs and unreal. I felt I had wasted my time reading it to the end.

The Awakening - Lovely immersion in a time and place long since lost.

This is a leisurely description of upper middle class life in New Orleans in terms of a young married woman with its conventions and restrictions. As she becomes aware of herself and her sexuality she suffers from mood swings and a progressive sense of alienation that culminates in a suicide which is almost accidental.
I gather that the book for its time was unacceptable and that in my opinion explains the suicide better then then the story itself.
