The Little Match Girl - Classic
One of my favorites that I read each year at Christmas. It still tugs at my heartstrings. (I know, pretty cheesy!)
The Red Shoes - Fun read
A delightful story with a good moral. A little somber as all Hans Christian Andersen stories are, but still a fun read.
Classic Shorts: Eight Stories for Summer - Great short stories
Some wonderful short stories! I personally loved "Bartleby, the Scrivener" by Herman Melville - a delightful story that I had to finish and kept asking for the next installment. All the stories chosen were enjoyable to read.
The Gift of the Magi - Beautiful
A beautiful classic story that I cherish every time I read.
DailyLit Holiday Reads - Twas the Night Before Christmas and The Christmas Carol
The Holiday Reads consists of Twas the Night Before Christmas and Dickens' The Christmas Carol. Both are favorites of mine and get me in the holiday spirit. I wish there was another holiday story included (although I cannot think of any others) as I was hoping for more.
The Three Musketeers - What a book should be
This was a book that has been on my "To-Read" list for years. I am so happy I didn't leave it any longer - I really enjoyed it. It has humor, adventure, romance, and action. The last 50 or so parts I read in 2 days as I was hooked. I look forward to reading more Dumas books.
The Snow Queen - Not as great as I remembered
I really enjoyed this book as a child but reading it as an adult I was less enthused. It is a nice fairy tale but not as wonderful as I remembered.
A Pair of Silk Stockings - An enjoyable short story
Sweet story of a woman and her spending away from reality. I completely related to the woman and understand how a few small niceties can change your day/year/life.
Cross Country - Suspenseful!
I am a huge James Patterson fan and this book was just as great as many of his others. Fast-paced, easy-read. A good book when you need something fast and exciting. Looking forward to reading another of his on Dailylit.
