  Loss In a Fitzgerald story, it's all about loss--and this time the funny thing I pull away is how it almost doesn't matter that Button is aging backwards--he doesn't grow old with his love, but very few of us ever do. He doesn't understand his last days, but again, who can say we all will? Sure, he doesn't fit in to his society and isn't "normal" but normality is such an illusion anyway.
