Meg Murry of "A Wrinkle in Time" was my favorite. I was her age when I first read the book and I thought she must have been a real person known to Madeleine L'Engle, she was so true-to-life. Shy, uncertain, insecure, stubborn, easily embarrassed, and yet fierce in her protective love of her family, Meg is still a friend of mine all these years later.
