It all started with the man falling past my window. Seeing him made me feel concerned. So I went to see his widow. We talked and she smoked. I learned more than I wanted to know. In the end I couldn’t get away. That’s why I’m still there now. Involved.

When I moved in he moved out. We both planned how it would work out, knowing it wouldn’t be easy. Then the phone calls began. She got edgy and I got annoyed. One day she went out and didn’t return. Next day the headlines read: Woman's Body Found in Canal.
