  Sweet and charming. The daily entries are very concise. They may be useful to some writers, but I already knew the first two grammar rules she related, the only ones being shared here. However, I've taken a grammar course, so I should. I would recommend this to anyone who is a reluctant reader and is clueless about grammar, because the author is so endearing and bright. • The Picture of Dorian Gray finished

  Frightening and horrible. The stuff of nightmares. Death is always near in this book. It made me uncomfortable. When this book was written, there was a lot of controversy about the moment that a person dies. People weren't quite sure. People were buried alive, their contorted, injured bodies discovered later. His book reflects that angst. However, all of his dead people are REALLY dead, quite gruesomely. I posted this on 19 November 2009

• An Unfinished Death finished

  Riveting storyline, sped up installments. Unlikely heroes make this an interesting read. It was scary and ludicrous and I had to keep reading. However, I would not recommend this to any of my friends. I read way more than them, and they're quite particular.

  Organizing the Disorganized Child I was disappointed with this book because I wanted to read about getting the bedroom clean, and this was all about school. Now school is important, I'll give you that, but so is a clean bedroom. Also, there were a lot of typos, which I thought looked unprofessional. I posted this on 01 September 2009

DailyLit Selects - Ideas for Book Excerpts in DailyLit Selects

Broken Horses by Jeanette Walls. The Glass Castle was an amazing read, and I would really enjoy learning more about the author's family. Broken Horses is a fictionalized memoir, but so were The Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Please consider my request.
