Reader Challenges - 50 Word Fright

The rattling of the window, typical in such a storm, seemed more menacing today. It felt like an ominous warning. She slid deeper under her blanket in the hope that a simple piece of fabric would protect her from the unknown. Shattered glass…footsteps...a scream (was that her own voice)? Silence.
