Romeo and Juliet - I love this book!
Happy stories are too easily forgettable... it's the sad ones that tear your heart to pieces that you remember and carry with you.
The Count of Monte Cristo - love this book
I read this book years ago, and am getting ready to read it again! It has a great mix of every element (adventure, romance, tragedy, etc.)
