Lots of good stories here, unique visions of the world that could be; told in a nervous, disconnected style I am just unable to appreciate, this might be the last Charles Stross I attempt to read. Hugo winner, however, so plenty of other folks appreciate his style.

Nothing here I didn't already know, but lots of pretty pictures and good basic review of what's out there.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Benjamin Button
Rather dyspeptic view of someone who had something special and through vanity and lack of emotion (connected to high-class status?) wasted it and wasted away. Relied on others for help all his life. Perhaps an idea of the interconnectedness of everyone; still, the story is offfputting. Haven't seen the movie.
Art and Craft of the Machine - Art and Craft of the Machine
Makes sense as a spoken lecture; well-organized and taking flights of fancy to describe how machinery can uplift art and by extension humanity. Read this for steampunk literary roots!
